About Heather

(she/her)

Hi! I’m Heather Eure, PhD, IBCLC, PMH-C.

I’m a lactation consultant, postpartum doula, perinatal mental health coach, and mother of three elementary-aged children. My enthusiasm for working with growing families is fueled by my own adventures in parenting. My journey through motherhood has brought me to my knees; it has challenged and humbled me in ways I never anticipated. I know how hard parenting is and feel honored to be a part of the early days home with a new baby, helping folks receive the support they need through this life-altering transition.

My work with families is evidence-based, neurodiversity-affirming, and LGBTQIA+ inclusive. I have a Perinatal Mental Health Certificate through Postpartum Support International and am a Certified Perinatal Neurodiverse Lactation Specialist. I am particularly adept at supporting parents with mental health concerns, parents at risk for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and neurodivergent parents (such as ADHDers and Autistic parents). I like to say that I support “all kinds of families with all kinds of brains.”

A fun fact about me: Once upon a time, I completed a PhD in Comparative Literature. The title of my dissertation was Illegible Women: Feminine Fakes, Facades, and Counterfeits in Nineteenth-Century Literature and Culture. My research informed my conceptualization of gender identity, which helps me help families navigate the identity shift that occurs during early parenthood. Finally, my teaching experience armed me with the excellent counseling skills I need to make families feel heard and help them find the path that works best for them.
